In winter, the sea becomes an unpredictable enemy. The Camargue’s bull and horse breeders are powerless in the face of this threat which is getting closer every year. Despite their strong attachment to this land, handed down from generation to generation, moving inland is starting to look like the only lasting solution to protect their homes and animals from the rising water level. But in a region like the Camargue where land is scarce and expensive, what solution can be found for those who have lived here for generations? The potential disappearance of these activities in the future would result in the loss of part of Camargue’s cultural heritage.
