Shelter zone for migratory birds and hosting great biodiversity, the Txingudi wetlands are a site of ecological importance. Restored after being degraded by artificialization in the fifties, they are now threatened by climate change and especially by the rise of sea levels. It is important that the ecosystems are healthy to be resilient to climate change. Ecological restoration increases the resilience of ecosystems. If, despite their resilience, the Txingudi marshes were to disappear due to the rise of sea levels, it would have serious consequences for migratory birds. Indeed, Plaiaundi offers a resting spot in a zone where migration is difficult, without it, the birds would have to change their migratory routes.
